I’m glad to see this contest cancelled.  America is a major manufacturer and exporter of landmines, and with our economy in the shape it’s in, we need the jobs and export income that the landmine manufacturers create.  We don’t need do-gooders parading Third World amputees around in an effort to destroy a mainstay of American Capitalism!

Unfortunately, Land Mines are a low tech device - we don't make so many anymore as they can be more cheaply made in China or Afghanistan.

There is a need for air delivered area denial weapons such as the Gator but recent conflicts have provide limited opportunities to expend our stocks so aside from training consumption there really isn't much call.

"Here she is . . .  Miss Cambodian Landmi . . .  Gooks in the wire!  Gooks in the wire!"

Right - You know how easily I en-tertain.

So she's available down at Ms. Kitties Pleasure Palace in old Saigon city again?

They've actually been doing this for a while. Repugnant as if may be, it's obviously not intended as a 'beauty' contest. It's more like an international PSA. Still, what would they like us to do, rid their country of land mines from all previous conflicts? This applies to far more countries, and you don't see such trivialized publicity.
