A prediction by a noted (and maybe whacked) Russian political scientist. Note the map of the new US. I have signed up for a crash course in Mandarin.

That is the Russian dream, if we collapse then they don't look so bad for falling on their collective faces.
He is wrong about a few things - the Japanese will prop the dollar up as will the Chinese, cuz if we don't buy their shit they will collapse faster than we will.

There have been some more realistic suggestions towards the breakup into 3 or 4 independent nations, but the Federalists among us (including me) would fight tooth and nail to prevent it. I seriously doubt it would come to war and the vast majority would not want to give up the power that we have as a nation.
But given the choice....I'm with whichever side the Jarheads are on.

His predictions about who will get what are way off. The Chinese in my area do not have a sufficient presence to hold it. They would wind up being burned to death in their restaurant if they tried to seize control. As for Florida, it would turn into Nueva Cuba before it would ever become a Mexican possession.

Odd. I thought Saudi Arabia would at least get New Jersey, expanding Secaucus all the way down to Princeton.
