I hope this guy is next. Do people really still think that paying extra to live in a "nice" neighborhood will somehow prevent bad things from happening?

This is a case of murder/suicide, something that can happen in any neighborhood. Living in a good neighborhood will go a long way towards shielding you from violence perpetrated by strangers (read non-Whites), and it’s worth it to pay extra to live in a good neighborhood for this reason. Yes. Yes they do. In a thread on the movie board I frequent concerning guns someone said
I prefer to live in a safe neighborhood rather then own a gun.
A "safer" neighborhood is a start but yes, criminals don't give two shits where you live.
