I guess this is what they mean by reaching out to Muslim Nations.  This particular gesture occurred only 8 days before the Nobel nominations closed.

I remember the righties having a similar whine-fest when Carter won the award.  Isn't it just too damn bad that the Nobel (Peace Prize) Committee is dominated by people who don't like war.  I'm enjoying the agita.  They've inflicted a little shock and awe.

While Obama might one day have actually deserved the award, to give it to him now reduces it to an Affirmative Action Prize of little more value than the medals given out at Special Olympics games.

I hear people complaining about Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize and I don't disagree. However, I am wondering who people think should have received it? I can't think of anyone this year who promoted peace. The list of nominees is unavailable. "Due to the statutes of the Nobel Foundation, lists of nominations are held for 50 years, so the official list of the Nobel Peace Prize Nominees for 2009 will not be available until at least 2059."
