In fairness to Phewd, Kennedy was a lifelong drunk, a man who but for the help of his equally inept retainers, could barely tie his own shoes. I learned first hand as a kid the flip side of that shitfaced equation. Teddy hammered was a great tipper. Sober, not so much. I was a hotel bellboy in Edgartown.

But!!!! Sober means Sober....no booze, chronic, snow, crank, shrooms, horse, crack, spray paint or shit fumes.
Sober, means keeping company with that person you are that you don't really like. Beer shits, whisky cramps, heroin constipation. Anything that relieves the pressure including a sexual addiction counts as non-sober.
Sober means clean for 24 hours, no fucking chocolate, energy drinks or stolen blowjobs.

I also have an extensive English ancestry as well, mainly coming from the area around Salisbury... My ancestry allows me to be a functioning alcoholic. Living in an area with a high population of natives boggles my mind... I can drink any of them under the table when it comes to volume, but those poor sonsofbitches can't seem to function in any way shape or form even if they only get drunk once a week.

Having posted this thread about poor old Teddy, I must admit that I enjoy my alcohol. I just never got so fucked up that I hit on young pages or killed a woman by driving off a bridge and leaving her to die.
My definition of sober is the depression you get when you wake up in the morning knowing this is as good as you are going to feel all day.
