Hey, at least that redirects you to the appropriate gummint agency. I had an unclaimed asset, $380, and was getting letters from nice folks who offered to recover it for me for a mere 20%. Cost to get the money from the state office? Zero.

I found I have $28.50 in dividends due to me on some stock shares I sold five years ago.  I have five months to contact the company before the money is turned over to the bankrupt state of California for "safekeeping."

I don't know what the totals are yet, but I filed claims in two states. This should be interesting.

Thank you for your claim on the missing money website. There are two property's under your name both were reported from McClatchy News Papers Company as dividends in 2004 & 2005 in the amounts of $25.40 & $11.40.

Not exactly a windfall, but it is dinner and movie. I still have two claims in Arkansas that I have to send in paper work for. What I do know about those is that neither is more than $100. I suspect I'll just stick that into savings.
