The police call this the "Mysterious Dude Defense".
As in you have gotten the report that a TV was just stolen from a store 2 blocks away. You see a guy carrying the exact same model of TV down the street. You pull up and ask him if it's his TV.
"Sort of" he says.
"Where did you get it?" you inquire.
"Well, you see, I was just standing here minding my own business. This mysterious dude walks up to me and says, 'Hey, want a TV', and he just hands it to me and walks off."
