Yes, yes it is. For some reason I find this article really reassuring. Colour me optimistic.

Because I had to know,
There are no restrictions on what organs or parts of the carcass may be eaten from a Halal-slaughtered and -dressed animal; as long as it was slaughtered and prepared according to the rules of dhabiha halal, the entire animal is fit for consumption by Muslims.

Wearing a kilt is totally inappropriate for a Muslim who doesn't have Scottish ancestry. The kilt pattern denotes membership in a Scottish clan, and if you are not a member of the clan whose pattern you're wearing, it's just wrong.

Most tartans are an invention of over active Anglo-Scottish minds of the Victorian era... Think: "Dress Up". You can assuage the blood guilt over the deaths of some .5 to 1.5 million Highlanders that were starved, chased off traditional lands etc. by playing pretend. The Sassenach as well as the Lairds have so much to answer for.
There are several Tartans that can be worn by those born in Scotland but not affiliated with any clans. Trust me.

What is so striking about Glasgow's Muslims is their attachment to a Scottish identity.
A parochial view. I think that immigrants who refuse to adopt the language and traditions of their new country are part of the problem, and those who accept them the solution. I'm a cultural bigot, who still considers discrimination a virtue, but you seem to discriminate based on trivialities.

It's not the plaid of the skirt, but the under parts that matter.
