A seriously wonderful machine in the mid- 70's. Alas, I rode mine smack dab into the back of a parked pickup under the influence of a controlled substance.  Bike = total. Me = cosmetic damage, 30 or so stitches and hematomas.

But there's a reason "classic" doesn't equal "better".

When I finally realized I had to stop riding this

(thanks to goddamn motherfucking fucking arthritis of the spine) I'd garnered the skill to wear out both front and rear tires equally. 

You couldn't ride 1970's  street bikes like that.  Not even the Beemers frames could keep the wheels aligned under that level of hard cornering stress back then.

I didn't know that any of the higher mammals could do much more than convulse if beheaded. Very impressive.
