I can’t find the source, but I remember reading once that among Puritans in Colonial America, it was acceptable for couples to “fornicate” between the time the marriage banns were published and the marriage ceremony performed as long as they confessed each act of sex during church services. This lead to some very interesting public confessions with a lot of details relayed to fascinated congregations, and helped make church attendance much more popular than it is today.

No, I probably came across that tidbit while looking for weird shit on the net. I tried the Gay Church thing and found that to be a surreal experience run by some of the most dysfunctional people imaginable.

I'm surprised fnord missed an opportunity to rail against miscegenation.

It wasn't pertinent to the main issue about firing a teacher for a stupid reason, and besides, he will find out miscegenation is its own punishment. White people who do this pay dearly over the course of their lives.
Edit: After baiting me into commenting about it, don't rag on me about my racist views. I had intended to just let it go.

Hey, I am the last person that would rag on you. I find it refreshing you are so unabashed. I think the world would be better off if people were less PC.

That's what you get for working for a parochial school.
