She's only been going there for 50 years, that makes her a tourist among the real natives.

Someone needs to buy her a vibrator.

At my home town, what once was farm land is now developed.  A town surrounded by McMansions just ain't pretty [or right].

I think she’s fabulous!  America needs more contentious bastards and bitches who fight to save their communities from being ravaged by developers.

This from one who lives in a gated community.

The community I live in has very strong zoning laws and is completely surrounded by federal land.  It is close to its maximum build out, and has a very vocal preservationist community that will not allow the density to be increased or the character of the area to be destroyed.  My parents retired to a beautiful historic little town in Florida with no zoning laws that was destroyed by developers in less than ten years after they moved there.  I have not made the same mistake.

Since you are being picky, let me clarify.  Substitute "town" for "community" in my post about my undisclosed location.

I will not disclose that.  Your failed logic is another matter.

Sounds more like she is jealous as she used to have one of the largest homes in the community. Size really does matter, to some people anyway. Also, she used to be married to a real estate developer. But he never imposed on others I am sure.

Not that I like it, but development happens everywhere. Even in East Asshole, Iowa. And if you choose to live in a location like the Hamptons, enough said. It's just how it is when people have to have 1000 sq. ft. per child and a yard big enough for football and soccer. Besides, we don't glorify huge families by showing them on television as if they were entertainment, do we?

I lived in Central Asshole, Iowa long enough to appreciate that. When I see it here, next to homes my kin inhabited 250 years, I get cranky.

Nobody needs a mansion, ever.

It ain't about need, need is for lazy folk.

It's about can, if you or your forefathers could then you can.

Nobody needs to live on the beach in Santa Monica, but they sure as hell have rent control to insure meth-heads can afford to live in one of the worlds most desireable spots.

Life ain't fair, learn that early and with a lot of hard work you might prosper.

So I take it that you and your forefathers fall into the undescribed category?  Your genetical history didn't include domination of the known world?

You now hate any that could because your lot couldn't?

(It's not like they wouldn't have had they been able)
