If I was their PR man I think I would have come up with another reason for closing the store.  Radiation contamination would have been preferable to bed bugs in a clothing store.

When considering all the nasty places I have dealt with, bed bugs are a vermin that has never been an issue.

There are many whole blocks of New York, even some upper crust ones, that are infested with bed bugs. They travel from apartment to apartment very easily and can hitch rides on coats and jackets, riding the subway and busses all over town.

In order to really kill them all whole floors, and in some cases, whole buildings have to be simultaneously fumigated.

There was a great article posted on High Street that detailed the scope of the problem. Seems the upper east side is ground zero for the infestation. Primarily because no one will admit to having them. So they jump from apartment to apartment.

Specialized companies have formed where they come in completely disguised as other types of contractors. As you would never want your neighbors, your apartment manager and most importantly, your real estate agent to know that you have the bugs.
I think they quoted the average cost of such clandestine extermination as being around 50k.

Completely defeating the purpose. If they don't know, they won't spray until it's too late.

Maybe I can combine a Real Doll with some kind of hot water bottle and expired blood bank blood and make a decoy to lead them into my trap...
