I'm about to spend an extra $100 to drop my contract, plus extra $10 a month on a Verizon contract after being circle jerked for a bit over 3 months. They have a program called "Sprint Premier" in which you have to be a customer for 10 years...or have a base bill of 69.99 or over for 3 consecutive months if your a customer already, or have a base bill of 69.99 for 6 consecutive months if your a new customer. The plan entitles you to a new phone every year instead of 22 months. I've had a Sprint cell phone now for 7 years. I had a base plan of 49.99 a month plus 30 extra a month for my blackberry plan for a total of 79.99. I was told that I would need the 69.99 base contract to qualify for Sprint Premier on June 1st, so I had it changed the same day, paying LOWER then I was paying for the previous 13 months, but sure, if they want to go line for line by contract clause, I understand. So exactly 3 months to the day that I would be entitled to upgrade would have been yesterday, Sept 1. I preordered an HTC EVO from Best Buy to arrive yesterday as I would finally be able to buy my upgrade. I was a bit shocked to find out that Premier had not activated. I called Sprint 4 separate times yesterday, and got 4 completely different replies about when my status would show the change. One said Friday, one said Saturday when I was at Best Buy again to explain the situation, but also referred to Saturday as a "business day", so I had to recall to verify, the next one said Tuesday, but gave me a number to call to verify, and the final guy now tells me October 1st, FOUR MONTHS exactly after June 1st, not 3 as specifically advertised.

First, check Google Earth for a Bell Tower like structure located near Sprint Headquarters. Make sure you shop at wall mart or the ammo and don't forget to publish your manifesto here before heading out to pay back the corporate heads what they deserve.

Eh...then I'd waste ANOTHER 300 on airline tickets...just not feasible, I only have a $200 revenge limit.

No need to feel left out by your budget. Home Depot has all kinds of deals on pipe and end caps. And I hear the postal service has a new half cubic foot box you can get for free with priority mail postage. For an added touch make sure you tape the offending phone to the device before sending it in to corporate. And don't forget the most important thing of all. Make sure you send us your manifesto.

Shoulda gone with Verizon.
AT&T and iPhones are for hipster douchbags.
Sprint is for poor rednecks and children who want cool phones but not grown-up phones.
The rest of the continent in populated areas uses Verizon.
Also, what JR said.

HTC Incredible.
Just got my 2.2 update yesterday. It's better than when I pulled it out of the box three or four months ago.

Sprint outsources their non-tech customer service to a company called ER Solutions...I had a chance to work for them a couple of years ago when they opened up a call center some miles away from me. I know I'm not in a position to be picky about finding work, but one of the reasons I walked out of their application process was when it was revealed to me that those hired would be working for Sprint. A few months before then, news was that Sprint had lost well over a million customers in a quarter (or half) and was still bleeding customers, almost unprecedented in the cellular industry. Part of it had to do with the lust for the iPhone; but most of it had to do with bad customer service on ER's/Sprint's part. With all the bad PR back then, I thought things had gotten better...

Sprint SUCKS! They sold me an air card with a two year contract. It didn't even support the Microsoft OS at the time (Vista). Vista had been out for about two months when I bought it. They never bothered to tell me this and refused to void the contract. The software was never updated and the card was unused for two years. Fuck those guys!

Sprint overcharged the fuck out of me for lame reasons, so I just quit using them.
I think the supposed debt's been sold off about 3 times ad seriam to collection agencies, judging from occasional mystery calls.
Fuck Sprint.

What else can you expect from a company who's name is (Take The Money And) Sprint?

It seems the reason you get such lousy overpriced service from your phone company is that they have identified you as a loser. Who knew that being a social outcast would come back to haunt you when you dial customer service. Where your name pops up on the screen with some sort of black mark designating what sort of service you should get based on your popularity.
Maybe this Facebook thing is not just a fad afterall and I had better get on that train to start winning friends and influencing people.
TELECOMS operators naturally prize mobile-phone subscribers who spend a lot, but some thriftier customers, it turns out, are actually more valuable. Known as “influencers”, these subscribers frequently persuade their friends, family and colleagues to follow them when they switch to a rival operator. The trick, then, is to identify such trendsetting subscribers and keep them on board with special discounts and promotions. People at the top of the office or social pecking order often receive quick callbacks, do not worry about calling other people late at night and tend to get more calls at times when social events are most often organised, such as Friday afternoons. Influential customers also reveal their clout by making long calls, while the calls they receive are generally short.

No, not in this sorry economy, not in this pathetic part of Alabama...
Right now, I'm sort of a care-taker for an elderly mother who just turned 89 two days ago.

Sounds just like Calhan to me.
“If they had seen those pictures, it could have ruined them for life,” said Hale" This is a real gem, the idea that exposure to reality would ruin children FOR LIFE. I mean c'mon Mrs. Hale, it's not as if all men and women and children are covered with skin and have genitalia, is it? What if God had created the world THAT way? We'd all be in a world of deep shit!

Just to throw in my two cents worth: I've been using Sprint for about 15 months now - after using AT&T - and I've found their customer service to be great. Really. They've been helpful, nice, and easy to deal with. I've run into a couple of annoying coverage issues including when I was on the US/Mexico border a couple weeks ago, but I really don't have any complaints about Sprint.

Overall my experience was great, until I had a very specific question, and I got literally 7 different answers for it thus far. BTW, my Premier status finally entered my account yesterday, with a weird message of:
Save $150 on a new phone now!
We love you, and to say thanks for spending time with us, you qualified on 07/01/10 to save $150.

I went into an au (kddi) shop this morning and was told that the date of the announcement of au's new CDMA iPhones had not been set yet.

Eh? Fuck the iPhone and any other touch screen only device; complete piles o'crap.
(Disclaimer: we run Sprint at work, however it must be noted that our boss is butt-buddies with the Sprint CEO. My experience is definitely not indicative of the normal user experience)
