Who ever is compiling these lists is an economic illiterate and would not pass any economics 101 class. For instance:
Nominal GDP in 1913 was 39,140 million US$. Per capita NGDP was 400 US$. This bought you 20 items worth 20 US$ (US$ 1913).
2009 NGDP was 14,256,300 million US$. Per capita NGDP was 46,000 US$ which bought you 104 items worth 440,30 US$ (US$ 2009)
Who’s better off? A person in 1913 able to buy 20 items or someone in 2009 able to buy more than 100 items with his inflated US$.
Although many points in this list are worrisome you better stop publishing this sort of mind blowing nonsense.
