I recovered from vegetarianism years ago and will not have a relapse, but can’t turkeys and chickens be given a barbiturate overdose before processing?

It occurred to me after I posted that running their cages through a “laughing gas room” would be a humane method of anesthetizing the birds that wouldn’t leave a residue in the final product.

Sounds like a nice way to die.  The chickens could be the test case for suicide parlors.

I remember when I had to kill lab rats.... just grab the suckers behind the ears, take firm hold of the tail and give a yank... just like one of those old-time pull-the-string firecrackers... one good 'snap' and that little rodent has joined the choir invisible.
