Just live octopus pieces? No biggie. What's the difference between that and waiting 10 minutes?

Eating live octopus was the source of my first cultural shock moment.  I had just gotten to korea in June of 86 and was walking around in downtown Seoul.  I saw a drunk guy trying to eat a live octopus that had suctioned onto his lips and cheek and was fighting back.  It was a real WTF moment.  The next WTF moment was walking past the butchers table and realizing that that leg on the table has a paw on the end of it.  Korea in 86 was quite an experience for a 18 year old.  I've lived there recently and it's changed quite a bit.

lol.

I spent about 20 seconds interpreting "san nak ki" from the han gul-- then I noticed that it was already romanized... better.

No big deal. I saw part of a Korean film where this guy eats a live octopus. He's sitting there with the whole fucking thing squirming around his mouth.

Yee haw.
