It's hard to say which party will spend us into oblivion more quickly, but I've been assured that there is no alternative because that would be wasting your vote.

That's a pretty negative take on what I was trying to say. There are some alternatives. In fact, I know a way that you can avoid spending another penny on taxes for the rest of your life, you can't go to jail for it, and you don't even have to vote!

That would be pretty slick for a rookie swabbie.

I wasn't picking on you Taffy, it's a common mindset.  I agree that it's unlikely that any third party is going to win a majority, or even a substantial minority.  That said, if a third party with a consistent and reasonable platform came up with 10 or 15 percent of the vote, you'd see massive policy changes in both established parties.

The Reform party was a good example, as were the Libertarians of the 80s.  While the Libertarian's platform was extreme (and they were fronted by that kook LaRouche), both movements did actually influence  both parties toward some of their more constructive philosophies.

The "Tea Party" is not a good example, as they are simply the extreme base of the Republican party.   I give credit to the the "Know Nothing" party of the mid 1800s, who were at least honest about it.

P.S.  I never implied you were a Nazi (re Wikileaks).  That still stings.

I don't agree with nonparticipation as a strategy.  The way to change our system is to herd the sheep, unfortunately that's extremely tedious and besides I have moral objections to doing so.

That said, excellent observations.  I've bookmarked the channel.

It's not slick. I am starting a political movement for people who don't want to pay any more taxes, people who are really, really, really sick of politics as usual, and are ready to take charge of their lifespan. I'm thinking "Pro-Mortal Party". Were you expecting something more reasonable?

Shagging sheep isn't sporting or is it a hygiene issue?

I hope you are keeping your mind on your swabbie duties, sailor.
