Why run? You'll only die tired.

Interestingly, our house was built in 1963, and had been designed by a woman who had been in the State Department in Germany in the 1950's... so based on her experience, she designed the house to include a very good fallout shelter, complete with blast wall, stored water (the well tank is in there), and a lead lined 18" reinforced concrete ceiling. Given that we currently use that room as our larder and it is lined with bakery shelving full of food, it would probably keep us in food and water for more than 6 months.
Of course, the half life of the fallout is a wee bit longer.

When the scuds sirens went of in Bahrain the local workers would put paper towels over their faces and hide by the dumpsters - apparently thinking the odor from the dumpsters would be more powerful than the sarin?

Kinda makes you want to trick India into going Code Red, just to watch it happen.

I'm disappointed in both of you, that an HBAR-II match grade AR-15. Legal for purchase in all 50 states and frightenly accurate at 1000 meters - reach out and touch someone baby.

Kathaksung is very envious.
I had a friend who lived in one of the decommissioned Nike missile bases near you. Somehow when I learned that those were secretly stocked with nuclear tipped defensive missiles with a range of 20 to 70 miles and the plan was to pop them over the city's head to protect us, no amount of blast wall ever made me feel secure again.

Like I said, it's seriously lacking in the "meat" department. Californians just can't handle more than 10 rounds.
I also prefer the HBAR configuration and my shorty is just like that, with the flattop and bolt on carry handle. I prefer the carry handle iron sights because they act like sighting channels on short shots and real sights at longer ranges.
Now put to put 68 grains of intent on more distant targets, I go for the longer 24" fluted bull barrel in 1:8 and matched bolt with Nighteater on top. It's make to hammer La Rue popups at 600+ meters. You know you're having fun when you can put the second round on the way to the target before you even hear the report from the first one hitting the steel gong.

If you need more than a single round you are obviously doing it wrong. It's Ready, Aim, Fire; not Ready, Fire, Aim.
