I'm to provide the wine for Xmas dinner - Dunginess crab.
Viognier, Chard, Riesling, or?
For myself, a sweetish wheat beer.

A good Australian dry Riesling would be best, IMHO. Try Grosset's Polish Hill Riesling... an excellent choice. The European dry Rieslings are apt to be a bit to overpowering for your crab.

Try oh no, why do we have to have crab again this year? I sick of crab, I'd much rather have ham or even turkey instead. Anything but crab!

The viognier wouldn't be bad at all but, as Sailor points out, a dry Riesling would be lovely. Avoid the sweeter German or American ones: there's nothing wrong them by any means and I'm quite fond of American Rieslings, but you want something to contrast with and support the sweetness of the crab.

Fuck the wine go straight for the vodka; server chilled in plastic coffee mugs.
