Just as God created us naked but insists we wear clothes, just as He gave us sex to procreate and made it fun to make sure we'd continue to be interested in doing it but doesn't actually want us to do it, God also gave us the power for critical thinking but He doesn't want us to use it.

I too am skeptical of ancient DNA and protein analyses. Too bad there are many other lines of evidence that indicate that birds are dinosaurs.

This is my favorite pharyngula story of all time and a good healthy lesson on why you don't piss off the Catholics.

Christian faith should drop the Old Testament completely.
Instead, the priests, preachers and politicals promote it more than the teachings of Christ.
Ask anyone who promotes Genesis if they eat bacon.

Ignorance, hey don't knock it till you have tried it. Some with vested interests would love to talk you out of getting an education.
Not that an education is worth much to the peasants these days.

Depends on your definition of "education", if by education you mean that people learn how to think critically and independently I'm all for it. I think John Gatto makes a good case against modern education though in the following article: http://www.cantrip.org/gatto.html
