Now, it is true there are several parallel universes in the U.S. There’s the one in which the conspiracy theories of Glenn Beck of Fox News make absolute sense. As Beck sees it, a cabal of international socialists, do-gooders, university profs, New York Fashion Week and Google are united in their determination to make everybody take the bus, or something. Anyway, it’s a confusing parallel universe, the Glenn Beck one, so let’s stick with the one in which Paris Hilton reigns.
