The really scary part is that our own government and top policy circles are top-heavy with people (John Negroponte springs to mind) who are dedicated to and highly skilled at supporting third-world oligarchies, with death-squads if need be.

“He’s just hard-lined—will not talk, will not communicate, will not return phone calls.”
-Wisconsin state Sen. Tim Carpenter (D) on Gov. Walker (source)

Carpenter’s quote made me wonder: who could get through to Gov. Walker?

Who indeed!

You can google buffalobeast and find the sound clip of the phone call with the Gov. and the would-be David Koch.

Hmm the url is http://www.buffalobeast.com/?p=5045

But try the Salon page with an interview.

Murphy said he has not heard from Walker's office or, for that matter Koch's. He says he hopes Koch sues the Beast, citing the Streisand effect. He adds: "I would just like it on the record that I'm not suicidal. If my body floats up in some Wisconsin bog or cheese factory, I was not suicidal.

Another nonsense law that will be struck down immediately.

WTF is wrong with the Republicans lately, do they really think they are doing anything outside of wasting time and money?

That's what they're all about. Their goal is to undermine confidence in government.

Retirement should average 10 years, which was the fact when we started these pensions

This is America, not Greece - you have to earn your way.

Of course, America could always look at other countries that have legislated superannuation into worker's responsibilities and entitlements, thus - (a) ensuring that all retired workers have a minimum standard of living provided for in the main by themselves, and subsequently (b) that the country's social security spending is kept in check.

Though I'm sure your teabaggers would find some way that such a scheme contravenes the blessed Constitution.
