OK, I’ll start. I’ll say they're illegals whose relatives in America didn’t meet the ransom demands from the smuggling ring. They were chopped up with machetes by young Mexican smugglers and the pictures were distributed in their home villages in Central America, as a warning to other would be migrants that they need to have their financial ducks in a row before they set out for the US.

By modern standards, yes it is a news story. It has everything: Police, fear, loathing, blood and illegal immigrants.

Hey guys, that was a critique of modern news, not a political statement. I'm an alien myself, and some of my best friends are illegal, or at least have illegal habits.
