I hesitated to mention this earlier but my last trip was a nonstop airport horror show. And these were not turd worlders, fnord, they were asswipe white Amurikans. Logan airport, hands down the worst, threatened to call in the FBI when they found a 3/4" nail file on my keyring.

I hadn't flown in years and was surprised to find standby fares no longer exist. Buy your ticket at the airport, I was told after the fact, and you guarantee yourself the full, strip search treatment. An outdated press pass fell to the floor and this only made my ordeal worse.

I half expected to find Chicago's airport rename Stalag O'Hare. Fuck them. Next time, I drive.

edit: A counter clerk in St. Louis was so pleased with my sympathy for her $8 an hour despair, she risked her rotten slave wage to give me an off the books fare and waived the airport service fee.
