WCL

That's right, I'm SOME PIG.
(But I am NOT pot-bellied, and I don't like Vietnamese food. I am, however, trying hard to be more "common" and "traditional.")

The very idea that a homeowners association can regulate what kind of pet you can have in your own home and yard is flabbergasting me. Sure, if you sign the covenants and it's your thing you can agree what color you can paint your front door and if you will let someone park their RV in the driveway. But when a HOA starts worrying about stuff inside your castle, it's time to start thumbing through the real estate section again.

The homeowner's association sent a letter to the family April 6, 2011 saying they had violated the rules after neighbors brought the pig to its attention.

In other words, they have at least one neighbor who is a complete cunt.

At least one of my neighbors is a complete cunt as well.  A gentleman near me plays the flute, and has been reported to HOA.  I think his playing is lovely and appreciate it whenever I hear it, but that's me.  A lady nearby painted the white edges on the wings of her eagle statue red, not the best choice she could have made, but whatever.  She told us she was reported and had to move her eagle so it couldn't be seen by the cunt who was offended.  My greenhouse is hidden from public view in a semi-enclosed patio; I would rather have a table and chairs on the patio so I could have my morning coffee there, but my greenhouse has to be there because the HOA doesn't want me to have it.  I hate my HOA!

You would live in an area which is safe and protected!  Remember, you give up your liberties with all that safety!

My greenhouse, the lady's taste in art, and the gentleman's flute playing do not in anyway threaten other people's safety!  If I wanted my life to be micromanaged, Partner™ and I would have checked into a Bedsore Manor type of living arrangement instead of my taking care of him on my own!  Yes, all of us choose to live in a safe community, because we wanted to be certain our artwork, greenhouse, and musical instruments wouldn’t be stolen.  Since it seems we aren’t supposed to have these things anyway, we might as well live in an inner city!

I'm sure he plays with his flute as well, but I'd rather not think about that!

Wait.  You mean, you live in a gated community because of your things?  You probably don't even live anywhere near an inner city, so therefore you and yer sweety are safe from the depredations of our coloured cousins.

No, I don't live in a gated community!  And you're right about my being nowhere near an inner city.  My small town is well over 90% White and several hours away from a major city, so it isn't absolutely necessary for White people to live in gated communities in order to be safe from dangerous minorities.

So why in heaven's earth would you live in such a neighborhood?  My head is spinning.

I had no idea when we moved here that the HOA in our neighborhood would be so assholy.

Edit:  I should add this area is world famous for its scenery, and over half of the residents are refugees from California.  This isn't a typical ignorant White trash small town.

Naivety was not a trait I had associated with you
