Admit it, you've known that for years, haven't you?

Does writing for national news organs like TimeWarner or MSNBC turn people into assholes that call anyone unwilling to knowingly ingest poison a jerk? Film at 11.

I've known that since the '60s, when the dirty hippies I grew up with would lay their all-natural organic head-trips on me every time I came back from the corner store with a fistful of kid food. Here - have some delicious all-natural organic cyanide, you ignorant dirt-eating self-righteous motherfuckers. (Om, shanti shanti shanti.)

Tell me, fnord, do you fertilize with anhydrous ammonia or that special blend of worm castings and fish emulsion?

At least distinguish between those who shop, cook and eat sensibly so they won't bloat out like all the hippos around them and the insufferable shitwits who insist on preaching their foodie fruitcake gospel to all and sundry.

It depends.  For my potted plants I use time released and other synthetic fertilizers (meth for plants) because I don’t want the smell of fish emulsion or cow shit in my house.  For my plants in the ground I use compost, sphagnum moss, cow shit, and other natural fertilizers which improve the soil.

I avoid highly processed foods that contain a lot of fat, sugar, ingredients whose names I can’t pronounce, and any food-like substance that I suspect was extruded through a tube at some point.  I think this is reasonable.  However, I’m not going to pay extra for anything which was grown in organically produced compost from the goddess-blessed forests of the Pacific Northwest, and watered with water lovingly melted by hippies from the pure and holy ancient snow of Antarctica.

Fnord, you sound like you do it the way I do it. We don't call it "organic" farming around here, we call it "balanced" farming. If I have to use a pesticide, I use the smallest amount of the most innocuous one that does the job. If I need fertilizer, sometimes I use ammonia, sometimes Black Kow or other processed bio solids. What's funny is that I can get unlimited amounts of pure "organic" fertilizer still warm from the chicken's ass, but I won't use it on my food crops because I don't want any of the byproducts they feed the fowl in my garden. But I'm happy to put chemically pure anhydrous ammonia on my foodstock. Why not?

Food is like religion to some people. When their Dogma overrides their sensibility it's time to just nod and back out of the room slowly.

Why not use anhydrous ammonia on your food(stock)? That question is stupid enough on it's face to worry much about answering it. What you should be doing is having rabbits and ducks or guinea fowl shitting and pissing directly into your plot, or indirectly through compost. That way They can't feed your animals the crap you don't want in your garden.
