Abuse of animals is a sign of severe sociopathy.  Serial killers and serial rapists often have a history of animal abuse.  People who would do terrible things to animals are capable of doing terrible things to people or society without feeling any guilt whatsoever.  Romney's history of lying and/or saying whatever is necessary in order to obtain political power is another sign of sociopathy.  Sociopaths frequently appear to be charming, which I imagine Romney is able to fake when dealing with people on a personal level.  Yes, this man is frightening.  He's not a misguided but well-intentioned conservative who really believes the things he says.  The scary thing about Romney is why does he want power so badly, and what would he do if he obtained it.
