People use epoxy, powdered sugar, metal dusts, even simple wax as working mediums and then dry, fire, lost wax, sinter or UV set the medium. Some devices even have special heads for printing conductive substrates or even living tissue.

Soon it will be just substrate, power and Intellectual Property that will be worth anything. Everything else will be secondary.
