Yeah, Boston firefighters are stand-up guys.  They're not a bunch of racist, wife beating Irish drunks who may have in fact instigated the situation.  Why every firefighter I know LOVES Mexicans...especially illegal ones.

I guess maybe it's just fallen out of fashion in my neck of the woods.  'Round here they've given up on it for the most part in favor of less polite words.  Trust me though, if they were saying anything really terrible about you they'd probably use words that weren't so obvious.

On the rare occasion I've encountered resistance, I pretend I'm wounded, roll my eyes, insist I'm Cuban, then issue 20 seconds of rapid fire, memorized beaner insults.

This worked so well once, a 20-something hot tamale dragged me back to her bed.
