When they sold insurance and drove beer trucks in the off season, because they were just like the rest of us, I felt bad when these guys would end up cripples and mental wrecks. 

Now that that reward is so much greater and the risks are obvious, I could give a fuck about them.  When Unit #1 goes down, Unit #2 better get in there and play their heart out for my amusement.

Whereas, we should amend the constitution to ban anyone under the age of reason from all life-threatening professional sport. Presumably, anyone over 30 knows better than to intentionally hurt themselves. A human's 20s are its most productive years and we're crippling the best athletes, for what? Amusement?

If I weren't worried that he'd discover my secret identity and brag about it to his friends, I'd tip my hat to my old man, who rarely limited my peurile activitles, save for his refusal to allow me to play football or engage in non-essential boxing. He told me, presciently, that I'd thank him for it when I grew up.
