Twenty years, huh?  How spectacularly special.

1)  What portion of the topic title was not clear to you?

2)  The attitude of the no-TV type is predictable and oh-so-tired.  Live your life and attend to your own business as you please; but drop the attitude that eschewing a particular mass-media category is some virtue which makes you superior to others or for which you should be admired.

3)  If you truly have not watched television for 20 years you have missed out on 20 years of cultural development, and you are not in any position to judge the quality of television in the 21st Century.  You are missing out on some good shit.  One example:  Archer, which is gut-busting funny.

I don't own a television and haven't in more than a decade. Prior to that two or three year window, I hadn't owned a television in about 20 years, too. Know what? There are plenty of things to avoid and plenty of things that are worth seeking out and I do enjoy several television programs that I follow on line or at my partners' place. I also read, a lot. I spend lots of time cooking, which is both my vocation and my avocation. I spend lots of time researching and writing recipes. I ride my motorcycle. I am involved in a polyamorous relationship which keeps me quite busy. I work. I travel. I go out with friends. I get stoned and do absolutely nothing.

Get over yourself. Archer is fucking brilliant.

The "nerve" you hit is my mounting irritation with people--and you are legion--who act like snobs about stuff that it it is simply not rational to feel superior about.

Who are you to decide that due to a program on the idiot box, someone belongs or does not belong anywhere?
