Lawdz a mussy, she OH-glee. Really tho, I think facial disfigurement is the most disturbing of all. That she somehow managed to live is remarkable, but I think most of us don't believe we ever could, after something like that. Such a pity the VA isn't hosting a similar gallery. It just might end war indefinitely.

Silly boy - those who make war don't need to worry about such things; that is left to those who fight them. A VA gallery would only impact those of us who cared to begin with, the politicians are far to busy with power broking and re-election to worry themselves with the fate of the soldier class.
Conservatives and Liberals supported the war at almost the same percentage across the board - recent history shows us that political survival remains far more imporatant than individual impact.

Opposition to that conflict crossed ideology, too so what does it matter? The defining factor, it seems, is a pedisposition to think for yourself, not something a military culture like ours encourages.
