Custom job from a shop down in Seal Beach, please don't ask me the specifics as it's not really my business - my job was to write the check.

I love the leaves and the champagne stone is very pretty in the sun, Melons is very happy though...

A sliver of fingernail, hmm can I fap to this?

Damn Em, That was inappropriate, but this is High Street after all.

Good on you two, may the fates smile with favor for you both.

For those interested, Melons dictated this to me:  It's a champagne diamond and the leaves are Mokume on a honeyed white gold band. The matching bands are rose gold, white gold and silver mokume.

You can't fool me Em.  You did this so you wouldn't be arrested for transporting her across state lines for nefarious purposes.  Congratulations you sly dog.

Funny guy - I graduated from High School in Chariton, Iowa.  I'd stop there if I actually wanted to see someone or if a High-Streeter was there to give me an excuse to buy a beer...

Otherwise the plan is to deadhead to Chi-town and then Philly (of course there is the mandatory stop in Sandusky Ohio just to terrorize our youngest boys).

Nice trip, but I would take the Denver/Kansas City/Indy route and avoid both Chicago and Detroit.

Actually I would also, but I have a brother in northern Utah and the old family farm is just outside of Omaha.  So what the hell, it doesn't really change the distance and I don't ever intend to make this trip again.

(yes my brother is a devout Mormon and no he only has one wife - that I know of)

That's right, stay out of Texas, if you know what's good for you! :D

Nah - it just means he's more polite than the rest of the family when he hits me up for money.

{shudder} Texas {/shudder}

I've done that drive before, never ever again - not even if my soul depends on it - oh god the memories of the highway east of El Paso and the truck stops - words simply can not describe...

Pshaw.  With the speed limit these days you can drive clean across Texas with daylight to spare.  I left New Orleans last August first thing in the morning and reached El Paso while it was still light out.  That was almost entirely within five MPH of the limit.  Try to make sure you don't stop at any truck stop the greydog stops, unless you're into watching the low life.

The last time I did the Texas trip was I10 east to west in a VW bus with a 40 mph headwind. I threw a brick on the accelerator, leaned back and watched the speedo top out at 51 mph. I was two full days just in Texas.

That is the most beautiful setting I have ever seen.  (I'm not big on the "champagne" diamonds, but hell, it ain't my ring.)
She is right to be thrilled.  May she never forget to appreciate having you, and vice versa.
P.S. I hope you made it out of TX alive.
