People really have lost all sense of social decorum.  Communicating with the side piece in front of one's socially acknowledged partner just isn't done, even if they're aware a side piece is in the picture.  Airing ugly family laundry in public dining establishments is beyond rude to the other patrons.  Discussing one's sexual activities with one's children is an icky violation, certain to result in the need for therapy.  Family beatdowns should never happen in public.  Well brought up Southerners in past generations were all aware of these rules and observed them!
