Interesting - I wonder how much of that is a "worry response", as in "hang on a second, this could be an emergency call"? I think we all know that after a certain time of the evening any phone call elicits that reaction.

It's understandable if it's a rare event that happens because one is a parent, or has a developing situation occurring with a loved one. The impression I got was that these stupid people do this on a regular basis. We've all seen the couples on a dinner date where one party ignores the other in order to text or talk on the phone. Checking the phone for messages or Facebook updates during sex is just the next step in self-centered disregard for one's partner.

I would suppose it comes down to how the question was actually framed. Should it be the simple "I'm just not that into it but go ahead case" then the partner needs to realize the fact and find someone more compatible. But the family/friend emergency thing, which is not just parents, cannot be simply ignored.

Smartphones usually have cameras. this potential explanation is easily supported by the plethora of Tumblr sites I find porn-selfies on.....
