Interesting. But what do we do about the joos? They would probably do fine without our aid at this point. In fact we look to them to sell us many goodies. They are a leader in the security tech sector.  Even if we end our aid to them at this point they will still be intricately emeshed in our economy. Let alone countries like Saudi Arabia which has bought and sold our last 3 presidents and is investing in our next one.

Beyond propping up with national aid, in the global economy, their are many third world counties that engage in substantial trade with the USA. Brazil and Mexico are the 8th and 13th  largest by GDP economies in the world. Our corporations find much value in outsourcing and engagement with much of the developing world. Even if we sever their dependency on us we are increasingly economically dependent on them.

Oh yeah.  There are a lot of Israeli security companies.  CheckPoint is one of the big'uns.  They'd be even bigger if a) they weren't assholes that completely stomp on their employees and have a culture of pumping out products regardless of their condition and skimping on QA and training materials and b) the US government hadn't quashed their attempt to buy Sourcefire a couple of years ago.

Sorry, you hit a bit of a nerve there.  I never had an anti-semitic bone in my body until I worked for CheckPoint.  One of the reasons why I left is because I realized that I was starting to hate Israelis, and I'm almost 100% sure that it's really just the assholes I worked for.  Lucky for me I fell ass-backwards into the best job of my life.

I really didn't figure it was anti-semitic. Nowadays, hating Israelis or their military force really isn't "Jew-hating" (are you paying attention, Fnord?). Frankly, I think much of what people have to say is a knee-jerk version of political correctness, but the desire to avoid it can get a little too deliberate. The modern State of Israel is--as an American Jew of indeterminate and irrelevant extraction--a terrible place. However, as an American, living in my safe, non-blown-up city, without fear of daily destruction, I am forced to empathize with them as loners in a really bad place. The fact that I know this is historical repetition should be immaterial, I suppose.
