He and his squad struck back blindly. For that wrongful act, he has spent seven years in the brig

The evil was done by putting these young men in that position to make this mistake, now we must figure out how to deal with the fall out of the mess which we made.

Larry Hutchins, a Marine sergeant, is one of the "Camp Pendleton 8," convicted of dragging a 52-year-old Iraqi, a retired police officer, from his bed in early 2006 and killing him as a warning to other Iraqis not to place roadside bombs along routes used by Marine vehicles in Hamandiya west of Baghdad.

I dunno, dude, that's blood lust as black and white as it gets.

Oh hell yes it was blood lust, that's exactly why we should not put them in a position to experience that.  You send a Beserker to war and he's going to do what beserkers do, why the fuck do you think I'm so against war.  The arrow once loosed will do it's destruction, it's not the fault of the arrow but of the archer.  Look to the creators of the evil not to the weapon that inflicts the injury; we are now trying to reshape warriors-born into corporate drones which follow precise laws, that shit just doesn't work.  Boys will be boys and empathy is not necessarily a trait of boys when one of their own is killed.

Tell me my friend exactly how much control do you have when one of yours is maimed or killed?  I, myself, well I just wanted to burn down the world.

I would like to know a little more about the guy they killed.  If he was guilty of allowing terrorists to plant IEDs, then he was an enemy combatant.  Apparently this squad is still convinced that he was.  In that case, the worst these men should be convicted of is acting without orders.  Placing our military in combat with rules of engagement more suited to police work is total bullshit.

Exactly my point, we don't ask a CBU-72 to determine guilt or innocence and we certainly should not expect that of an angry young man.  The guy they tapped could well have been innocent but we'll never know because the boys lost their minds; the reality is having them there caused the situation from start to finish.

You should go back and do a little punctuation editing.

And then, you have this shit.

The U.S. Army is refusing to suspend contracts with dozens of companies and individuals tied to Al Qaeda and other extremist groups out of concern for their "due process rights," despite repeated pleas from the chief watchdog for Afghanistan reconstruction.

I'll take punctuation comments from George Orr or Melons; not much interested in hearing from a troll.

Trolling is when you don't add content to the thread but post combative comment.  You didn't say a damn thing about the subject in question you simply lambasted me.

That my friend is trolling.

BTW:  This is actually an interesting topic and if you took the time you might have interesting and enlightening input.

Lambasted you? Wow dude, overly sensitive? I think you often mis-interpret what I say. I, in no way, posted that with the intention of you feeling lambasted. I saw your edit comment and snickered about a run-on sentence in there and thought it was funny. I won't comment towards you any more, I wasn't trying to make you sad.

That, my friend, is pretty sorry.

I always read lambasted as lamb, basted.

Carry on.
