But he was to tired to put any real effort into proving it...

Well.  That should serve as a warning to him/her.

Actually, I think the wall of mud that slammed the car to the left saved it from being skooshed.

So, actually, God just has bad aim?

Al Gore says it's my fault for driving a Pick-em-up truck around.

By pretty much any definition of god, he (she,it,they) would be incapable of having bad aim.  Omnipotent and omniscient pretty much ensures perfect aim.

Since I'm an atheist, I'll just chalk this one up to "Oh, Crap! That was a close one!".

Well, imagine if the dude in the car had just had a row with the wife... or if he's carrying on an affair... or if he even stole a Post-it pad from the office... no matter what indiscretion he's committed I'd imagine he associated his near-death and salvation as a message from God to "cut that shit out".

I think I've posted this before, but there was a picture in the LA Times back in the '80's that I still can't find.  A couple was driving up PCH in a nicely restored '55 Chevy when a boulder fell from the cliff crushing half the car and killing the wife - the husband walked away with minor bruises and scrapes.

Truth is always stranger than fiction.

Not a Greek or Roman God.  They were as flawed a bunch of assholes as we are.

Which only stands to reason since God is created in Man's image.

Hmm... perhaps this is what you speak of?  (from the "The Mount Airy News", Jan 16, 1989)

That looks like the incident, time frame is about right and while I was right about the car I was wrong about it being on PCH.  Good job Sailorman!

I love feel good stories like that one. I see a huge jump in "going to look at snow" trips for Banjo's family this year.

One of cruel.com's finest moments was watching the family of a hapless motorist, hit by a single engine plane crash landing over a busy CA freeway, berate every one of us - especially phreddy - for amusing ourselves at their expense.
