Fucking Bastards, hurting folks in an attempt to advance their political careers. Fuck all of them from every and any party, I've got a 50-grit sandpaper condom to use on each and every of them. (And y'all know I'm not into the homosexual stuff so Fnord might have to step up.)

Faux News is calling this a government 'Slimdown', not a shutdown. I'm beginning to wonder if the ACA was just a convenient excuse and the permanent shutdown of any government activity beyond essential services (like congressional paychecks) and the military is the actual endgame. Such brilliant and forward thinking is just what I would expect from the Teabagger masterminds.
And Em, don't be such a brutal asshole if you can possibly help it. Why subject harmless and deserving homosexuals to the ignominy of 50-grit condom sex with Republicans when there are plenty of AR-15s and Bushmasters to be used? Congress will get what it's been asking for, the condoms should protect the bluing on the rifles and the NRA will certainly fall in line. Hell, they may even chip in for it. The only caveat is that we'll have to make doubly sure that those weapons are unloaded first. We certainly wouldn't want to have any accidents, now would we?

But Postal officials point out that other federal agencies aren't required to prefund for retirees this way.
Other federal agencies are not required by law to function independently of tax-payer funding you retarded fucking schmucks.

Independent companies aren't required by law to pre-fund their retirement funds either. I don't know why they are trying to kill off the USPS but they've been after it for years, looks like they've finally got it.
On the other hand I'm not sure why they still deliver mail on Saturday's either...

The USPS retirement/healthcare fund was 2-3 billion off the books in the red before that bill was passed. Causing them to go 11 billion in the red isn't much of a difference. I think. I may be mixing some numbers up. Not really paying attention to this post.
The requirement to fund this stuff just made kicking the can further down the road illegal and can give the USPS room when they implode from their poor business model to pay for the people already on the books and not need a bailout.

I still refuse to accept poor budgeting and half-assed management as an excuse for privatization. Commercially speaking the USPS should be a profit center and Congress itself is the main reason they are not.
Hell those fuckers in congress are still getting paid and getting health care as they have deemed themselves as "essential"; look if they are so smart then they should do their job and fix the fucking USPS business model - it's complicated and time consuming but not really all that hard.

The only logical explanation for the mandated prepayment of the USPS retirement/healthcare fund is that they are planning to privatize it now that default has 'proven' that the USPS can't function. Once it's in private hands, that huge pension fund can be looted and shared out.

Why don't our taxes decrease during this time? Obviously we are paying for services that are no longer offered. Seems a little criminal to me.

You forgot another "G" solution to the problem, one used by Spaniards for many centuries; the garrote!

Admittedly the garrote must be turned by hand, faster or slower, but in the end it's all over much too quickly. I'm going for 'G' number 4:

I like that..... anything that makes people think of the Christmas goose and Congress at the same time shows true patriotism.

Dumb Motherfuckers ♥ Bait And Switch!
An exciting new strategy to convince the public that one particular party is not made up of clueless stumble-bums: If the public doesn't like the government being shut down to gut the ACA, let's say we REALLY shut down the government to gut Social Security.
