Interesting that nobody is developing a conspiracy theory about how this is all faked.  Same with the Chinese landing on the moon.

Perhaps it's only done with US achievements.

I think for a conspiracy theory to take root, you need to actually give a shit about the party or parties involved. At this point, it's probably safe to say that the only one most of us care about is the monkey.

"Iran shot a monkey into space."
"Hmm?"
"Iran. They shot a monkey into space. He'll probably die out there."
"Yes, but, on the plus side, he won't be in Iran anymore. Do you know where the remote is?"

At least they care enough to fake it. Our space flight headquarters and premier launch facilities are both now officially classified by the government property office as museums, to our eternal shame.

U.S. State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland told reporters then that while she saw pictures of "the poor little monkey," the United States doesn't "have any way to confirm this (happened), one way or another.

Yeah, sure we don't...

Seriously, don't we have a tap on the monkey's phone?

We turned several manchurian monkeys some years ago and sent them back to infiltrate the chimp cages but they defecated and defected.
