This happened in Appalachia, a backwater region Americans and their government don't care about. I've been to West Virginia, a long time ago, and I was struck with the wild beauty and the unreal poverty. Expect many refugees from the state to quietly make their way out to the rest of America in the next few months and years, more so than the usual trickle of people who leave for a better life.

Can we blame this on the EPA?  After all, if the EPA regs didn't require sulfer to be washed from the coal, there would never had been a need for that chemical plant in the first place.

I think so, acid rain was a good thing on occasion.  Say for example you want to paint your deck, it does half of the stripping for you - saves a shit load of time and money.

Heh, Phreddy you crack me up when you say these things even you do not believe. You are a jedi master at "get their goat humor".

And don't forget the added benefit that all those coal plants in  fly over country blow east onto the entitled havens of the liberal elites.

Thanks Johnny.  It is good to be appreciated.  But I can't take all the credit.  Gawd gave me these gifts to help keep wacko liberals humble.

Blame that Godless commie Nixon for it. After all, he is the one responsible for the EPA, and by executive order no less.

Well that explains the EPA's corruption and ineptitude.
