Just like the music industry.  The publishers are the real ones doing the screwing.  They were also the ones trying to sell their Kindle editions at a higher price then the printed books.  Under the premise that you'd never have to buy another copy, I guess.

Amazon is one of the few corporations that actually looks out for their customers.

Amazon=Walmart=Amazon=Walmart

Basically the only two retailers left in America.

“Amazon Prime Product Prices Higher for Same Non-Prime Item,”

No shit, Sherlock. Of course you have to bake in some shipping costs into the price or you lose money. Notice they didn't compare the "delivered" prices between a Prime item and a non-Prime item with $8.75 in shipping costs added on?

As with anything as complex as Amazon, you have to know what the fuck you're doing.  Yes, I recently purchased a book from an Amazon 3rd Party seller, and paid the shipping, and saved $20.00 from the Amazon Prime price.

However, I also do an annual comparison at the end of each year, and Prime has never failed to save me over $1000 annually compared with non-Prime and local Walmart prices.  Prime is not for people who want to buy two or three things a year from Amazon.

Have you compared the price of Prime to getting in your SUV, driving a couple of miles to a mega-store, walking miles across the parking lot, through the big box, spending 15 minutes checking out and then driving home?

I spend 5 minutes on the computer and the day after tomorrow it's waiting on my doorstep. And the $3-4 overnight upcharge (compared to $20+ for other retailers for the same service) is still cheaper for something I need sooner.
