One and maybe more gunmen kill military guard at the Canadian War Memorial, then head to Parliament for more shooting.

Not enough information to determine if it's disgruntled right wing Canadians, or fucked up Turd Worlders thinking an attack on the Canadian Parliament will affect events in the shithole they came from.

Unfortunately Fnord seems to be pretty spot on in his evaluation.

We should learn a lesson here. The Canadians knew about this guy as well as the one who ran down the soldiers a couple of days ago.  Their passports had been confiscated so they couldn't fly to Syria to fight and yet, they still pulled it off.  If someone wants to fly to Syria or elsewhere to live in the dirt like a dog, shit in a hole in the sand, and die in an airstrike or suicide bombing, I say let them go, so long as they are adults.  Hell, let's pay their airfare.  But, once they leave, there is no coming back, ever.

Sadly it's hard to claim to be a Free Society/Country with your approach.  Are you espousing a more controlled and limited society based on the perceived beliefs or possible actions of a person?  Even if those actions are merely accused but not confirmed?

I can only ask:  Where is your freedom now?

It wouldn't be too hard to determine someone's intent if he or she flew to Syria.  The trail left behind would exonerate or convict them.  Throughout history, defectors who joined the other side in a war were not given the benefit of the doubt when it came to guilt.  Most were summarily executed.  Banishment to the country to which they defected is a fairly light punishment.  Anyone who feels they were treated unfairly could petition a military tribunal, or if you insist, a court.

I can't believe my eyes, Phreddy! Are you seriously advocating restraint of trade for our brave and fearless mercenaries? Bill O'Reilly is going to disown your commie ass.

As is often the case, Greenwald nails it.
