Republicans critical of Obama's thinking about a response to Sony attacks, 'Finding Out The Facts' before bombing North Korea

In other news: Why has no one pointed out that the only one to benefit at all from the 'Hack Scandal' is Sony? They may even make a few dollars on that shitty movie now.

Sony more than anyone is responsible for the sorry state of its security.

Attribution is extremely difficult in this; there are plenty of people who have a gripe against Sony.  The FBI's statements seem overly confident even considering that they have lots of non-public information.

And the statement that "the cyber attack against Sony Pictures Entertainment was not just an attack against a company and its employees. It was also an attack on our freedom of expression and way of life" is just patent nonsense.  The only part of this affair that is vaguely warlike was the laughable threat to rain destruction on any theater showing the film.  But with politicians encouraging the populace to be afraid of their own shadows, even one shooting or fire would be enough to rev up the panic machine to full speed.

To advocate stronger retaliation to this situation than has been taken in response to actual missile launches and nuclear tests is ludicrous.

Given the info that has been released and the liability it would face if found out, it seems unthinkable that Sony orchestrated the whole thing.  However, I wouldn't put it past them to take advantage; will be interesting to see if they make some kind of insurance claim over not being able to release the film.  Given the advance reviews, the payout could be higher than actually putting it in theaters.
