Oh, I drove all those memories out with alcohol and forget-me-pot long ago. I do have some fond memories of the region. When I first saw this I did some google-snooping and grinned a few times at some of the street-views I pulled up. The mouth breathers at this place do seem more proto-typical of New Beige or Fall Creek though.

That was my first thought, too. When I was a kid, those two towns were maligned locally as New Beffa and Fall Ree for their Portuguese dialects, mainland and Cape Verdean.
