From doing a bit of research, the sperm donor has never been married to the child's mother. The child is the product of a relationship that went sour, and it appears the sperm donor went to court to force the circumcision as a way of harassing the mother and marking the child as his "property". The fact that she has attempted to shield herself and the child from contact with the sperm donor, and has fled to a domestic violence shelter speaks volumes. A doctor has testified the procedure isn't needed, and neither parent is Jewish.
The father's justification for wanting to have his son's penis sliced and diced: Dennis Nebus is not Jewish, but he testified that circumcision is “just the normal thing to do.”
