If your family has been in this country since before it was a country it's practically guaranteed you have some "native" blood, unless they are one of the wealthy, inbred clans in the East or came over on the California side.

And, sorry, I'll let black people tell us what collective noun to call them this week but, Native Americans are not native. They're a land-bridge crossing away from being Asian just as most of us white folks are a boat ride away from being European. If they want to use "We were here first-Americans" I'm good with that, otherwise, they're American Indians.

We all know that all disciplines of science are subject to fads, archeology included. Science fads just last longer than music, architectural or clothing fads.
