Wait.  Harding was a Republican and he was for African American civil rights?  That can't be.  That's like saying Lincoln was.. no... scratch that... that's like saying that Everett Dirksen was... no wait... that's like saying that over 80% of Republicans voted in favor of the 1964 Civil Rights bill every time it came up for a vote, in both the House and Senate.... no, wait...  that's like saying that Barry Goldwater was in favor of gay rights, long before anyone else... no, wait... that's like saying Republicans have had women's rights in their party platform since 1944, long before any other party... wait.. no... we can't say any of that...

...at least not out loud.

Two dynamics really.  First there used to be such a thing as a Conservative Democrat and a Liberal Republican.  Secondly, there was the big switcheroo where it went from Republican Governors up north and Democratic Governors down south to the other way around.  According to Dr. Eric Rauchway , an American History professor at UC Davis, the switch happened somewhere between 1872 and 1936.

Yep, I used to be a Republican, I now renounce them - hell even ISIS is more liberal than these fuckers running the Republican party these days.

I don't at all approve of the current GOP.  That being said, I'm still an old-school one.

Now if I only had someone to vote for.
