It's a makers world, Dodge introduces One of One ordering concept on their Viper line. 49 million option combinations available only one car of each option set will be made each year.
Try it here: http://www.drivesrt.com/viper/
Could make the world a tad bit more interesting if the concept spreads across the manufacturing sector.

I drove Vipers when I was getting my racing license at Laguna Seca, on the skid pad and on the track. I can't say I was impressed. Plenty of power and you can spin up the rear boots pretty quickly, but overall handling reminded me of the older Corvettes... and trust me, that's NOT a compliment. Danny Sullivan and I beat the hell out of one on the track and it only took about half an hour to completely smoke the front brakes, to the point where they juddered and ultimately failed entirely whilst entering the corkscrew... THAT was fun... Danny happened to be driving at that moment and in order to slow the car and not snuff it he put the car sideways and slid it through the screw. I will say, it was some pretty amazing driving, but not one I'd care to repeat.

Vipers are what they are, which is the greatest compliment that can be paid to them. You can buy a much better car in many ways for less money these days, that isn't the point of the Viper or this post.
This was more regarding flexible manufacturing techniques putting a lot of creativity back into the hands of the unwashed masses. If this works out it could spawn some magnificent and some magnificently horrible consumer creations.
Mary Kay Cadillac anyone?

I decline to turn this into a Viper discussion thread, however I will add that there are videos in the car thread showing a Viper setting the attack time record at the Ring. Personal opinion or experience not withstanding the car is what it was designed to be, the simple fact of which is laudable in and of itself. Those who enjoy it are allowed to do so as also are those who don't enjoy it. Much like the Shelby Cobra the Viper is not for the refined individual or the weak of heart; frankly I assume the Viper is for those who prefer to use a sledge hammer when making their kindling and don't mind burning their leg on side pipes when exiting the car.
This thread was about "One of One" manufacturing and the full color spectrum of options and hilarity which may ensue if this venture is successful.
