Thanks for that. Were there ever a finer pair of airplanes than the DC-3 and DC-4?

The only thing close in my mind is the C-130. If I had TrumpMoney I would have one.

I've jumped out of one while it was being shot at by terrified Macho De Monte. It didn't go well for them.
There are load packages that can make a C-130 as comfortable as any diplomat's Gulfstream, and hey, if you have TrumpMoney...

Huh. No, it didn't. One this nation's more questionable misadventures. Mine, too and I'd rather forget about it. I was in Panama City at the time.

I was the one in camouflage holding a sniper rifle.
I won't get in to the deeper politics of our Central American playgrounds, I don't like headaches. But I will say that the Panamanians we interacted with universally treated us as liberators. Politics aside, Noriega was evil as fuck.
Oddly, the following year I got a similar vibe from the Iraqis when we crossed the berm, but we screwed them over big time because politics and lack of spine. We are still reaping the results of that goat fuck.

I've nothing military to share, but I've done a walk-thru of Generalissimo Franco's personal Tante Ju. Wouldn't be as comfy as a Herky, but the '32 Ford vibe would be totally worth it.
Even better than a DC-3.

I've ridden in one of these. Slow and loud. I was told when they were new you alternated flying during the day and riding a train at night to get across the country.

Can't figure out how to get Imgur vids/gifs to work here.
Worth the moment it takes to check it out though.

Nah.
Daddy longlegs don't bother me, any more than crayfish or crabs or other eight-legged arthropods.* Phobias are...hard to understand.
*Not saying I would've wanted to be there, you understand; just that the gif doesn't bother me.
[edit] I forgot: obligatory image because this is the Picture Thread:

I'm liking the series reboot too. Very true to the original stories.
But I think this guy is still in charge of special effects:
So bad even SyFy is laughing at them.

I think it's self-satire. Remember, 9 out of 10 X-Files did turn out to be the monster in the rubber mask. At least, in the early years.
Edited for gratuitous photo of Gillian Anderson with a rubber monster.
